Examine how these triumphant episodes are sadly later tarnished and diminished. You will chart what went right.. and then, what went wrong.

We are told by the Rabbis that clothes can "deceive". Yet, in this Parsha, the clothing of the priests are set out and dissected in every detail, reflecting the holiness of their task. How does this sit within our tradition? Is this Parsha an exception to the rule in the Torah that externalities, such as clothing, do not matter very much?

How wrong they are! A brief study of minhagim shows that it is the Jewish communities globally that really drive much of our practice whilst the rabbis struggle to catch up. This session will look at Tu B'Shvat and its folk roots.
